A drawing will be held to raise funds for a past president and AAW workhorse and champion, Phil Brennion. Phil is now a quadriplegic who is in need of major health and financial support - many of his friends in the AAW want to help.

Fund raising raffle tickets can be purchased by calling or mailing the AAW office and on the Internet. Tickets will also be on sale at the Richmond symposium.

The raffle prizes are: 1. Powermatic 3520B lathe - donated by the WMH Tool Group 2. Jet 1014 mini lathe - donated by the WMH Tool Group 3. Oneway Stronghold 4-jaw chuck – donated by Arizona Silhouette In addition to individual purchases, your chapter could “pass the hat” and purchase a good number of raffle tickets.

If a chapter wins, they could end up with a new lathe or chuck. If they don’t need the prize, it could be raffled off as a chapter fund-raiser.

Hello all!

I first wanted to thank everyone for the positive feedback on my presentation of Google Sketchup for woodworkers at the April meeting.  I was a bit nervous, but you all were very supportive as I have come to expect from our wonderful membership. 

As I promised in the presentation, I will be posting tutorials and informational links in this post.  I have added my first section of tutorials and I will keep adding more.  So keep checking back here as I add more and more.

The message board has crashed and I am unable to fix it.  It seems it died this weekend and the database is corrupted beyond repair.

I have been meaning to program a new message board for the site that gives us more flexibility and loses the confusing separate login problem. I guess now is a good time to start on it! 

Unfortunately, that means our message board will be unavailable for the time being.  Give me a month to get something up and running and I guarantee it will be better than what we had.
